the countdown begins

It's officially October! And, as is our tradition, we have put out our Halloween countdown calendar.  Nothing seems to fit in the tiny pockets, so I found some adorable buckets to hold everything instead!  It is a fun tradition that my children look forward to every year.  As in years past, some of the items are family activities, like making caramel apples or going pumpkin picking.  Here is our calendar last year and from a few years ago.  I'd love to hear how you are getting ready for Halloween in the comments below.

How is it October already?  We had such a busy September, it just flew by.  I was hoping for a quieter October, but our calendar already seems to be filling up.  I LOVE this time of year and the kids are enjoying our Halloween countdown calendar that I put up on Monday.  I found the black wire baskets (in front of the calendar) from the dollar section at Target.  I put some of the larger items in them and added some witch hat lights to make it look even more festive.
